EARLY CHILDHOOD REGION 4 Supporting Families for Brighter Futures What is Early Childhood Region 4? The purpose of the Regional Early Childhood Structure is to bring together and improve services for kids and families in New Hampshire. It's part of a bigger plan to make early childhood care and education better in the state. The aim is to create a system that prepares children for kindergarten and academic achievement; fosters safe, healthy, and engaged families; and promotes social and emotional health and well-being. The Early Childhood Region 4 is led by the LAUNCH Region 4 Leadership Team who helps support initiatives addressing early childhood in Greater Manchester and Greater Derry.     Explore the Ready, Set, Launch program at Amoskeag Health. This initiative offers resources and support to help parents and caregivers prepare for and navigate key transitions in their family’s journey. Ready, Set, LAUNCH Because it Takes a City to Raise a Baby Home Visiting for All There is no guidebook for bringing home a new baby! Our Ready Set LAUNCH program is for newborns and their families who live in Manchester and give birth at Elliot Hospital. We want to make the first few weeks of caring for newborns a little easier. The Ready Set LAUNCH service is customizable to what YOU need. Newborn Navigators are bilingual Community Health Workers trained to assist families with newborns. They're experts in local resources and can connect you with services like mom's groups, lactation consultants, and childcare scholarships. Your Newborn Navigator can also connect you with free Nutrition and Cooking Classes, support access to SNAP and WIC, or to the local diaper pantry. As parents themselves, they understand how hard the first few months can be and can provide support during those early days at home. About Newborn Navigators Meet a Newborn Navigator Any parent or caregiver of a newborn who resides in Manchester is eligible to receive this FREE, one-time service! You will be introduced to the service at discharge or receive a call from our Newborn Navigator. Our Newborn Navigators will meet you in the hospital and tell you about our service. They will offer to meet you remotely for your visit. Navigators will follow up with you after you leave the hospital and give you a Welcome Baby Bag prior to the visit. How Does Ready, Set LAUNCH Work? Your Newborn Navigator will ask you how your first few weeks have been for you, your child, and your family. Your Navigator will see whether there was anything you wish you had or anything you currently need. Y our Navigator can work with you to make referrals if you'd like them. Your Navigator will determine if you may benefit from, and are eligible for, Enhanced Navigation which provides you with up to five additional home visits to build additional resources and support. Your Navigator will follow up with you after your visit to make sure you and your family are doing well. What Happens During a Home Visit? Since its inception in 2021, the Newborn Navigator has met with 1,433 families at Elliot Hospital, conducted 436 home visits, and referred 482 times to services like Manchester Diaper Pantry, WIC, SNAP, and various food banks. Ninety of these families received services in a language other than English - 80% in Spanish and 20% spread over Dari, French, Nepali, Pashto, Portuguese, and others. A : To become a Board Member, you need the desire to help your community! You must live or work in Manchester. We love if you are a patient, or the parent or guardian of a patient at Amoskeag H ealth, who has had a visit within the last two years. You must be at least 18 years old. You cannot be related to anyone on staff. You must keep all the information from the meetings confidential. If you meet these criteria, we will meet with you for an interview, and if it seems like a good match, we will recommend your nomination to our Board for a vote. 5 Q: How long can you be on the Board of Directors? A : Board members are asked to commit for a three-year “term” (period of time) to a Board of Directors role. If the member really likes it, they can serve up to three “terms” of three years each, but only one term is required.

Our compassionate team offers support for various mental health needs, including therapy and counseling, to help you achieve emotional well-being and improve your quality of life. MENTAL HEALTH Our philosophy is that mental and physical health go hand-in-hand. That's why we have an "integrated" model of care where we address all of your physical health concerns in addition to talking about any external or mental health challenges. If you are struggling with finances, childcare, or housing, or any other necessity, you may become stressed and overwhelmed. Eventually, that impacts your health. We have dedicated Case Managers who can connect you with local resources and services. Talk with your provider at your next appointment. We'll connect you with the right person to help you navigate these challenges. We provide behavioral health services to patients of all ages, ranging from traditional therapy to substance misuse counseling. Most of the time, we can provide brief behavioral health interventions during regularly scheduled appointments. These interventions are conducted by a Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) to help identify and manage mental health, substance misuse, and crisis-related issues . If you're interested in seeing a BHC, please talk to your Primary Care Provider at your next appointment. We also have Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners who can provide psychiatric medication assistance. Common mental health issues treated at Amoskeag Health include anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. FAMILY EYE CARE CENTER Optometry is health care related to your eyes and vision. It's important to have eye exams even if you don't have trouble reading signs or books. In some cases, an eye exam can be lifesaving. Did you know that some health conditions can be visible in your eye and caught by an optometrist (eye doctor)? If needed, the patient may be referred to a specialist to provide further evaluation and testing. We can also fit patients for glasses right in our Family Eye Care Center! Annual Eye Exam These exams are for patients who have acute eye issues. These can be made for same-day or scheduled appointments based on conditions such as: infections, sudden changes in vision, or injuries – but not for glasses. Acute Eye Exam As part of a Diabetic Eye exam, you will have medicated eye drops used to widen your pupils.     LEADERSHIP Maureen Cassidy, MSN, RN Chief Nurse/Chief Compliance Officer My reason for coming to Amoskeag Health, as the Chief Nurse and Chief Compliance Officer was rooted in my desire to build a stronger and more meaningful connection with the community we serve. After many years in community hospital and academic healthcare settings, I wanted the opportunity to work in a setting where I could have a more direct impact on patients’ lives and help address the needs of underserved populations. Over the past five years, it has been a true privilege to lead our clinical teams, including our nurses, medical assistants, patient care coordinators, and nutrition department. Every day brings an opportunity to support and empower the incredible staff members who are dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality care. What continues to inspire me most is the opportunity to meet our patients where they are, provide positive support, and help create an environment where individuals feel heard, respected, and cared for. Being part of Amoskeag Health has reinforced my belief that healthcare is about more than treating illness. It is about building trust, improving access to care, and strengthening the health and wellbeing of our community. Raised in Massachusetts and beginning her career as a diploma nurse, Maureen Cassidy has built a distinguished career defined by progressive leadership, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse Executive concentration, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and has since established herself as a senior healthcare leader across federally qualified health centers and academic medical institutions in New England. Since 2021, Maureen has served as Chief Nurse and Chief Compliance Officer at Amoskeag Health in Manchester, New Hampshire. She oversees clinical operations and the Corporate Compliance Program, ensuring regulatory integrity, quality outcomes, and safe, effective care delivery. For three years, she also led the Human Resources department, strengthening workforce strategy and organizational alignment. She partners closely with executive leadership to advance quality improvement, operational performance, and a culture of accountability. Previously, Maureen served as Director of Nursing at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and held leadership roles at Lakes Region General Health Care, where she led multidisciplinary teams, improved care delivery systems, and drove operational efficiencies across inpatient and ambulatory settings.
